Terms of Service

1. The service

Expenselyn lets you record your income, expenses, transfers, accounts, debts, and savings goals, and shows you reports and suggestions based on the data you enter. It is available as a web app and as a mobile app for Android and iOS.

The app is currently offered free of charge. We may introduce paid features in the future; if we do, we will make the terms of any paid plan clear before you are charged.

2. Not financial advice

Expenselyn is a tracking and organization tool. The figures, phases, distribution percentages, payoff projections, and any other output it produces are informational only and are based solely on the data you provide. They are not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for your own financial decisions and should consult a qualified professional where appropriate.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the app.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• Provide accurate information when signing up and keep it up to date.
• One person per account; do not share your account with others.

4. Your data and content

The financial data you enter is yours. We do not claim ownership of it. We store and process it only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your data or delete your account at any time; see Account Deletion.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose or to store data you have no right to store.
• Attempt to access other users' data, or probe, scan, or breach the app's security.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service, its servers, or its infrastructure.
• Reverse engineer, resell, or build a competing product directly from the app's code or private APIs.
• Use automated means to create accounts or generate excessive load.

6. Third-party services

The app relies on third-party providers (Supabase for the database and authentication, Vercel for web hosting, Expo/EAS for mobile builds, and the Google Play and Apple App stores for distribution). Your use of the app through these platforms is also subject to their respective terms.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the app available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may perform maintenance that temporarily limits availability. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes where practical.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results. You use the app at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Expenselyn and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or savings, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the app in a way that harms other users or the service. On termination, your right to use the app ends; data deletion follows the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes we will notify you within the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
